Substrate preparation:

On absorbent substrates, the primer PLANOPRIMER or the micromolecular acrylic NOVAPRIMER are recommended. For more information, please see the Product Data Sheets.
Existing ceramic tile, marble, mosaic, and other materials floor and/or wall coverings must be securely fastened to the substrate and free of any residue that could interfere with adhesion. Depending on the type of surface dirt, clean the surface with ALCALINE CLEANER, ACID CLEAN or ACID CLEAN TURBO and rinse with clean water. Apply the acrylic quartz primer PLANO CONTACT FAST prior to laying the material. The coating is applied after the primer has completely dried.
Preparation of the mix:
The product is ready to use.
Application:
Depending on the desired finish, apply two or three coats with a plastic or stainless-steel spatula. The NOVAMIX FIBERGLASS NET must be integrated after the first layer to increase the strength of horizontal surfaces such as floors, stairs, and so on. For a particularly minimalist finish, light sanding of the penultimate layer is recommended to eliminate any unevenness. Sandpaper grain size should be chosen based on the requirements.
Once the coating has dried completely, the surface can be sealed with one of the NOVAMIX products appropriate for the application.
Expansion joints:
The location of the respective expansion joints is determined by the surface’s use and the geometry of the area.
Recommendations:
- Apply only on solid and properly primed substrate
- Avoid application under direct sunlight and/or strong drying wind or rain
- Do not add water in quantity higher than the recommended and do not add water when the mixture starts to set
- Do not cover or apply the product over existing expansion joints of the substrate
- Do not apply the coating on substrates with rising damp or in total water immersion without substrate waterproofing
- Don’t apply the coating on substrates and/or areas with temperature less than +10°C or higher than +35°C
- Do not apply directly over anhydrite screeds, metal or flexible substrates with high deformability and intense vibration
- The shades may vary with the application method and the sealing product of the final surface
- Application should be performed by professional users
Cleaning:
If PLANOCOLOR MICROSILK is still fresh, tools, buckets, tiles, and so on can be cleaned with fresh and clean water. Cleaning can only be done mechanically after hardening has occurred.
