Terrazzo

“Play” with Glass, Cement and Light.

The possibility of creating terrazzo surfaces on floors and walls and even on special constructions, such as furniture, flower pots, benches, cement based custom made terrazzo tiles or furniture, with the incorporation of natural stone pebbles, silica sand, shells, recycled glass, crystal chips and even mirror pieces, provide unique design possibilities.

The use of NOVACEM CREATIVE / NOVACEM TERRAZZO as a white or grey hydraulic binder, which is mixed with compatible to cement granulates, allows us to create modern terrazzo and micro-pebble coverings in internal and external areas, on floors (minimum thickness 10mm), walls (minimum thickness 5mm) and swimming pools.

The durability of NOVACEM CREATIVE binders swimming pool chemicals, allows us to use them for creating surfaces imitating seaside with pebbles, artificial lakes, etc. according to desired aesthetic requirements.

The anti-slip effect provided by the use of pebbles in the mix, solves the typical “slippery when wet” problem we often find in the internal or external wet areas, like swimming pools.

Micro Terrazzo in more than 4.000 patterns applied over existing coverings in thickness of 6-8 mm.

The two component cement based mortar NOVACEM MICRO TERRAZZO is mixed with PLANOCOLOR GRANULATES (natural marble MR, natural quartz MQ, silica sand S, lightweight coated granulates LC or recycled glass granulates RC GLASS) and the pigments in liquid form NOVACOLOR DESIGN (90 colours) in order to create uniform high strength terrazzo coatings.

The application thickness of the coating is initially 7-10 mm and after it receives mechanical polishing, it achieves a final thickness of 6-8 mm. The combination of the 90 NOVACOLOR DESIGN pigment patterns, the 2-4 mm grain size natural stones and the recycled glass granulates, allow us to create more than 4.000 different terrazzo coatings.

The use of appropriate NOVAMIX primers makes it possible to apply these coatings over almost any type of stable and moisture free absorbent substrate, such as cement screed or concrete or over non-absorbent substrates like existing ceramic tiles or natural stone coverings.

The NOVACEM MICRO TERRAZZO coatings can be applied in internal and external floors, houses, offices, hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, airports, over heated floors, bathroom areas, etc.
